With our core business in Los Angeles, Spring/Summer is always a tricky season. Our clients want to look their best, but with the rising temperatures and their increasing travel plans, it can be a challenge to make the right choices. This year, our friends at Canali have introduced an array of fabrics and styles that are impossible to ignore for the fairer season.

Between the UK and Italy, the early year fashion season is always an opportunity to look great and get a head start on what you’ll be wearing for Autumn/Winter 2017. This fashion week brought some new design trends and a few surprises. Tailoring is going a bit looser and longer, creating a casual, more relaxed feeling and fabrics will be loaded with texture, pattern and layers of both. Autumn/Winter 2017 will be bringing more brown tones with a focus on “camel" as well as the blues and grey we’re used to. A few pieces jumped out at me while in Europe and should not be ignored. A ...

What an honor it is to be named one of The 50 Best-Dressed Men In The World 2017, by British GQ.  I am both excited and humbled to be #17 and would like to thank the GQ Panel and editor-in-chief, Dylan Jones, for the accolade.  As a member of The British Fashion Council, I continue to support and  help guide my British friends and colleagues in showing the world how important men's fashion and style is and that Great Britain is still, and always will be, a force to be reckoned with.
With the stress of the holiday season winding down, it’s time to close out 2016 with a bang. The boring penguin suit is not going to make the night memorable or catch anyone's eyes. Go for a more pronounced ensemble with either a white dinner jacket or an interesting pattern or plaid (shawl or peak lapel), which has stolen the show at many red carpet events this year. Special occasions are always a good opportunity for one-of-a-kind accessories like vintage cufflinks, watch, or an edgy pocket square or cravat/scarf — create a look that speaks to the occasion. Black-tie nights are also a great time to dust off your most stylish evening shoes. Patent leather is the classic go-to, but a high-grade black Oxford will also do the trick.

Tip of the night: Don’t ask her if she needs a drink; just get to the bar first, and pack a mint. Happy New Year and cheers to a great 2017!

If you are looking to sport a high end luxury bag, try this backpack from Dior Homme or this over the shoulder tote from Gucci.  Add a portfolio with some detail to your baggage collection if you are feeling a bit adventurous.  Almost all luxury brands are in the luggage game so look around and pick which is best suited for your personal style.
Thanksgiving is just one week away, and chances are, you're probably already thinking of what to wear for the night's festivities... or not. In keeping with our general philosophy that it never hurts to dress a bit more dapper than required, here is some quick advice for being the standout family member this Thanksgiving. - Unless you're going to Thanksgiving dinner at the White House, you don't need to dress so formal.  The night's attire should be (smart) casual; whether it be a cool pair of jeans and a blazer or a slim pant and sweater, just give your outfit that extra edge to ...

From hi-tops to low-tops, sneakers have been the one trend that continues to evolve. In recent years, sneakers have upped their game to become a luxury style habit. As much as I believe the sneaker trend has played itself out a bit, there is still a time and a place to wear them to stand out and not look like you are late to the game. There has been a cultural shift in people's beliefs towards acceptable casual attire, and luxury designers have played a large role in this. Fashion houses like Lanvin, Dior, Gucci, and so many others have all taken part in creating their own sneaker, especially one that can be worn traditionally to highlight an outfit and/or one that you can pair with a suit or slacks.

With summer still hanging around, one should continue to embrace the trends that come along with it. Prints and patterns have made a strong statement in menswear and it's not going away anytime soon. If you're just wanting to test the waters, start off with a subtle and simple pattern, but if you want to add more of a pop, try a statement piece instead of a whole outfit. Whether that piece is a

There's a very simple formula to follow for a stylish summer: warmer = cooler. The warmer the weather, the cooler the colors your outfit should be. Avoid black! Black attracts heat, and who wants to step out into 90 degree weather wearing such a dark color? There are many ways to wear lighter, more pastel colors this summer without looking like you just came out of a rainbow. Here are a couple of color choices to experiment with:

The time is now to bare those legs, so why not do it in style? There are several types of shorts and casual bottoms with multiple outfit combinations. Make sure you wear a cool sneaker, slip-on or boat shoe to complete the look. I also encourage wearing the "invisible/no show" sock not only to enhance your look, but to also not ruin the inside of your shoes nor stink them up. Here is how I recommend wearing shorts this summer:

No matter what the season or occasion, a cardigan is one of the major keys to smart styling. This classic knitwear piece can perfectly transition your office wardrobe to your street style look. A cardigan brings versitality as a staple that can easily be dressed up, dressed down, or layered. I like to wear either a button up shirt or a t-shirt under my cardigans. If you are feeling a bit daring, go for a bold look by wearing a patterned or a strong pop of color cardigan and layer it underneath a jacket or blazer if the cardigan is thin enough.
Let's not forget gentleman, the way you accessorize is just as important as the way you dress. A great wallet can be a timeless piece in your collection. Choose a design that best fits your lifestyle: bifold, trifold, card holder or a money clip. If you choose to purchase a designer wallet, make sure to pay attention to the details and/or craftsmanship that has gone into making it. My lifestyle calls for this slim blue handstitched Berluti bifold that opens to a beautiful brown leather with just enough room to fit my credit cards and ID. As for cash, I keep that separate and housed in my front pocket. And with that,

Pocket squares have become a staple of the modern man’s wardrobe. These soft pieces of fabric can put the finishing touch on any outfit. As Lapo Elkann said, “a pocket square must always – always – be white and a bit wild. If it is too prepared, it is tacky”. Once your main attire is chosen, start to plan the accessories to match accordingly. Simplicity can go a long way, but once in a while, it is fun to experiment with bright colors and patterns, but never match the pocket square with your tie or shirt (unless it is white). Mix and match accordingly. To learn more on the how to ...

Designer sneakers have become an important staple for the modern man's wardrobe. The world has slowly, but surely, accepted the trend of pairing sneakers with suits, but not any sneaker, a designer sneaker. The difference between wearing a Lanvin or Common Projects sneaker with a suit as opposed to a basic Nike or New Balance, is night and day. Designer sneakers tend to be sleeker, slimmer and more detailed than a basic athletic trainer, not to mention, pricier. But know this, pairing a suit with a designer sneaker will provide style, comfort and function.

Listen up fellas. I have been on both sides of the desk as both the interviewer and the interviewee. Job interviews are about making the best first impression possible. The Weitz Effect motto, “Style. Cofidence. Success.” is the perfect mindset to take into your job  interview. It’s imperative to know how to dress for this important occasion. Wear something neutral, but be creative at the same time. Add a pocket square or a tie clip to enhance your outfit. Play it safe until you are hired! A good rule of thumb - Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. Good luck.
The influence of men's fashion has inspired many of us to step up our street style game. Whether you’re going to the market, movies or just grabbing a bite to eat, your style should always be on point. Take any look up a notch by making minor adjustments to your outfit. Slipping into a cool designer sneaker, wearing a sporty blazer with a pair of joggers or adding a leather jacket/bomber to a basic white tee are all great options. Just make sure your clothes are well fitted and with that, your street style will get you noticed and set you apart from the crowd.

As Spring is just around the corner, one should arm himself with a great bomber jacket. Whether it be leather, suede or nylon, the bomber jacket is uniquely diverse and perfect for almost any occasion. Pair with a polo, button up shirt (with or without a tie) or a t-shirt. Most men will opt for a solid color, but for the more daring, step out of your comfort zone by wearing a printed bomber, and keep the rest of your outfit simple and toned down. If you dare to try this, get ready for the compliments!

Last week I traveled to one of my favorite cities in the world, London, England for men's fashion week. It is always great to be part of the incredible energy fashion week brings to the city and to see my style pals like David Gandy, Dylan Jones, Oliver Cheshire, and Jim Chapman. It's also quite an experience to see the creativity of up and coming designers such as Craig Green, Lou Dalton and Thom Sweeney, as well as the established designers/brands like Burberry, Coach and Gieves & Hawkes; with everyone offering something unique and interesting for next fall/winter season. As a committee member of the British Fashion Council, I always enjoy seeing some of the innovative British talent at the helm of many global luxury brands.

Scarves are a great way of accessorizing as we transition into the cold weather. Start out subtle; stray away from bright, loud colors or patterns if it’s too far out of your comfort zone; aim for neutrals like beiges, greys, and whites. Burberry’s cashmere scarves have the perfect array of colors to choose from, and feature a pattern that can appeal to anyone.
